PowerPoint 2003 Basic

Description

Students will learn how to create presentations, rearrange and delete slides, use the Formatting toolbar, set tabs, and align text. They'll also learn how to work with objects, AutoShapes, text boxes, fill colors, WordArt, and other types of images. They'll create tables, apply a design template, work with slide masters, add headers and footers, and use PowerPoint's built-in proofing tools. Finally, they'll learn how to create links between presentations and save a presentation for Web delivery.

Objectives

  • Explore the PowerPoint environment; use Help options; and close a presentation and PowerPoint.
  • Create a new presentation; add new slides to it; save and update changes; work in the Outline tab to rearrange bullets; rearrange and delete slides; and insert slides from another presentation.
  • Use the Formatting toolbar; use the Find, Replace, Cut, Copy, and Paste commands; examine the ruler; set tabs; and align text.
  • Create objects by using the Drawing toolbar; duplicate, move, resize, delete, align, and connect objects; add AutoShapes to a slide; edit AutoShapes, and align them by using grids and guides; add text to objects; draw text boxes; and use fill color options.
  • Use the WordArt toolbar to make the text in a presentation more appealing; use the Select Picture dialog box; explore clip art on the Web; insert images; and use the color, brightness, and contrast controls on the Picture toolbar.

PowerPoint 2003 Sales Presentations

Description

Students will learn how to use sound and movies, record narration, and customize presentations with custom slide masters. Online topics include saving presentations for Web delivery, using hyperlinks, customizing Web pages, conducting online meetings, working with shared workspaces, Web publishing, and the Package for CD feature.

Objectives

  • Apply animation effects, change the order and timing of text objects, create and animate charts, and ungroup and group clip art objects. Apply fill, 3-D, and shadow effects to AutoShapes and apply morphing effects to images.
  • Use sounds and movies in a presentation; set the recording level; change the sound quality; and link, record, mute, and delete narration in a presentation.
  • Build a custom slide master by customizing text and by inserting a symbol and an object in the Footer Area.
  • Save a presentation as a Web page; add hyperlinks to a Web page, another presentation, and an e-mail address; insert a graphical hyperlink; and modify a Web page by hiding speaker notes and by changing text and background.
  • Broadcast a presentation and use Microsoft NetMeeting, use the Shared Workspace task pane, create a Document Workspace, publish a presentation on the Web and access a presentation on an intranet, and use the Package for CD feature to package a presentation and run it.

PowerPoint 2003 Advanced

Description

Students will learn how to create and modify templates, build a custom slide master, and insert multimedia elements. They'll also learn advanced techniques for working with charts, tables, clip art, and drawing tools. Students will add and modify action buttons, use advanced delivery techniques, customize and create toolbars, and create macros. Finally, they'll learn how to integrate PowerPoint with other Office programs.

Objectives

  • Modify a template; create a template from a blank presentation, and add graphic elements to it; build a custom slide master; and work with slide masters.
  • Work with advanced clip art and drawing techniques; and add sound clips, movie clips, animation effects, and scanned images to a presentation.
  • Use advanced organization-chart options; format tables; and draw tables in a presentation.
  • Add and modify action buttons; create and edit custom slide shows; and set up a review cycle.
  • Use Microsoft NetMeeting to broadcast a presentation on demand; work with shared workspaces; embed fonts and compress pictures; use the Package for CD feature; run a packaged presentation; and use advanced delivery techniques.
  • Customize a toolbar; create a toolbar; and create and run a macro.
  • Insert and edit an Excel worksheet; build slides from a Word outline; insert a Word table into a presentation; send a presentation to Word; edit a presentation in Word; and save a presentation as an RTF outline.
